The company was formerly known as Woolworths Limited and changed its name to Woolworths Group Limited in December 2017. Moody's Investors Service says that the proposed debt facility draw of up to AUD250 million by ALE Direct Property Trust (ALE DPT) on 27 April 2020 would not, in and of itself and at this time, result in the downgrade or withdrawal of the Aaa (sf) rating of the Class AA notes issued by ALE Finance Company Pty Limited - Series 1. The transaction, backed by a portfolio of 85 pubs across Australia, is a single-borrower, secured loan, commercial mortgage-backed securitisation. ALH is owned by Endeavour Group, which is in turn owned by Woolworths Group Limited (Baa2, 85.4%) and the Bruce Mathieson Group (14.6%).

Australia's Qantas Airways Ltd is in talks with grocer Woolworths Group Ltd about redeploying some of its workers as coronavirus-hit financial markets brace for expected intervention by the country's central bank on Thursday. The flagship airline said it was temporarily laying off 20,000 employees, about two thirds of its workforce, as it suspended all international flights and slashed domestic services by almost two thirds. Qantas, like other airlines around the world, has been severely impacted as several countries have closed national borders to try halt the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

SEOUL/SHANGHAI, March 16 (Reuters) - Apple is taking the temperature of customers at its China stores, Australian grocer Woolworths is providing dedicated shopping hours for the elderly and Samsung will use thermal imaging to vet shareholders at its annual meeting. Companies across Asia are taking novel and sometimes drastic steps to implement "social distancing" measures to try slow the spread of the coronavirus, which has infected more than 170,00 globally and killed more than 6,500. Australian casino operators, and rivals, Crown Resorts and Star Entertainment announced plans to take half their electronic gaming machines and table offline to ensure their customers got some space.
